In this study, we formulate and analyze a deterministic compartmentalmodel of the Susceptible–Infected–Recovered–Bacteria type to assess the impact of Rural CommunityInformation Dissemination Centers (RCIDCs) on cholera transmission dynamics. The model accountsfor both direct human-to-human transmission and indirect transmission via contaminated environmen-tal reservoirs. An awareness parameter is introduced to quantify the effect of RCIDCs on reducingtransmission through behavioral change and improved hygiene practices. Analytical expressions forthe basic reproduction number are derived, and the local and global stability properties of the disease-free and endemic equilibria are investigated. Numerical simulations and sensitivity analyses revealthat enhanced public health awareness significantly mitigates disease transmission. These findingsunderscore the critical role of information dissemination and communication-based interventions incontrolling cholera outbreaks in vulnerable communities.
