The corelation between anti Mullerian Hormone levels and size of endometrioma

article OA: green CC0

Abstract

Objective: To show whether there is a corelation between the size of endometrioma and AMH (Anti- Müllerian Hormon) levels in patients who undergo unilateral or bilateral endometrioma stripping. Material and Method: 47 patients with endometrioma of 45 mm or larger were chosen. Endometrioma was unilateral in 33 patients while bilateral in 14. Blood tests for AMH, FSH and estradiol were applied on the 3rd day of the menstruation period before and 1 month after the operation. Results : There was no corelation between levels ofpreoperative and postoperative AMH levels and size of endometrioma in unilateral or bilateral cases. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the size of endometrioma does not have a damaging effect on the follicle reserve. In short follow-ups, endometrioma stripping does not damage the healthy ovarian tissue secreting AMH and there is no corelation between AMH levels and the size of endometrioma.
