Expression and significance of ezrin in endometriosis

【Objective】 To investigate the expression of ezrin in endometriosis for exploring the role of ezrin in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.【Methods】 Immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR were used to detect the expression of ezrin in the eutopic and ectopic endometrium from 30 cases with endometriosis and in the normal endometrium of 20 cases without endometriosis.【Results】 ① The ezrin protein and ezrin mRNA in ectopic endometrium group was significantly higher than that in eutopic endometrium group and control group;the ezrin protein and ezrin mRNA in eutopic endometrium group was significantly higher than that in control group.② There was no difference between the different stages.【Conclusion】 The up regulation of ezrin in endometriosis suggests that ezrin may play a role in the pathogenesis of endometriosis,the expression of ezrin has no relationship with the clinical stages.
