Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the level of soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1) ,tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α) in the patients with endometriosis(EM) and its role in pathogenesis of endometriosis. Methods: 21 patients with endometriosis (EM group), including early stages (stages Ⅰ-Ⅱ)10 cases and the severe stages (stagesⅢ-Ⅳ)11 cases. Normal controls subjects (control group) 10 cases. Detect the level of sICAM-1、TNF-αin the peritoneal fluid by ELISA. Results: Significantly elevated level of sICAM-1、TNF-α in the peritoneal fluid of patients with EM. The level of sICAM-1 in the peritoneal fluid no different between the early stages and severe stages in study group (P0.05、P0.05),significantly elevated level of TNF-α in the peritoneal fluid of patients early stages and severe stages in study group. The level of soluble ICAM-1 in the peritoneal fluid no significantly different between fertile and infertile patient with EM(P0.05、P0.05). Conclusion: sICAM-1 and TNF-αplay a role in pathogenesis of endometriosis.
