Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of HIFU ablation for uterine fibroids and adenomyosis. Methods 86 patients with 148 uterine fibroids and 34 patients with 34 adenomyosis were treated with HIFU.Color Doppler flow imaging(CDFI) and MRI were performed at 1,3,6 months after HIFU.The clinical symptoms were also evaluated. Results Follow-up MRI and CDFI demonstrated that the fibroid volume reduced by an average of 35% in the first month,59% at the 3 months,72% at the 6 months after HIFU.61 of 67(91%) patients with heavy and prolonged menstrual flow had symptoms relieved after HIFU treatment.32 of 34(94.1%) women with dysmenorrhea had the pain sustained relieved 6 months after HIFU treatment. No major side effects were observed during the follow-up period. Conclusion HIFU has obvious clinic effect on uterine fibroids and adenamyosis, and correlative syndrome and side-offect haven't occurred apparertly.
