This deposit serves as a companion to a review article that estimates the economic burden of endometriosis across 31 European countries. It provides the complete computational infrastructure, including Python code, data layers, and scripts for currency harmonization, necessary to reproduce the modelled numbers from the associated study. The package also includes all model outputs, scenario analyses, and a CHEERS 2022 checklist documenting the parameters and their provenance. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — specifically the development and transparency of a Europe-wide cost-of-illness model for the condition.

Abstract

Companion deposit to the review article Where the Cost of Endometriosis Falls: Diagnostic Delay, Treatment and Productivity Loss - A Review with a Europe-Wide Burden Estimate. The deposit contains everything needed to reproduce the modelled numbers in the article without contacting the authors: the prevalence-based cost-of-illness model for 31 European countries (Python, numpy only), the archived World Bank World Development Indicators data layer it reads, the currency-harmonisation script, the figure scripts, all model outputs including every scenario, and a PDF with the CHEERS 2022 checklist, the parameter table with ranges and provenance, and the annotated model code. Running python model/euro_model_listing.py on these files reproduced the three output files byte for byte on 28 October 2026. The research plan was registered retrospectively on OSF Registries after the study was completed (https://doi.org/10.17605/OSF.IO/8PZTG). That registration documents the plan as executed; it cannot demonstrate pre-specification. Corresponding authors: Viktor Gulyás-Oldal ([email protected]), Sándor Nagy ([email protected]) and Károly Szili ([email protected]).
