The analysis of treating 40 cases of endometriosis combining surgery with Gestrinone

Objective:To investigate the necessity of pharmacotherapy in the treatment of endometriosis of pelvis after surgery and the effect of Gestrinone on endometriosis after surgery.Methods:A prospective analysis was performed on 40 patients of endometriosis which confirmed by pathologic diagnosis from June 2003 to June 2004 in Fuxing Hospital.19 of the cases were moderate endometriosis,21 of the cases were severe endometriosis.All the patients underwent conservative surgery(preserved the fertility) or half conservative surgery(preserved the function of ovary)and all cases took Gestrinone 2.5 mg only,twice weekly for 2~6 months.Observed the curative effect of Gestrinone.Results:Symptom of all patients got good control during the time of pharmacotherapy.2 cases relapsed 6 months after withdrawal drug.Mild elevation of transamine occurred in 4 cases when taking Gestrinone for 2~4months.The transamine recuperated soon after ceased taking Gestrinone and took Glucuronolactone and Biphenyldicarboxylate at the same time.5 cases' weight increased above 3 kg.Facial acne occurred in 9 cases.The 14 cases recuperated after ceased taking Gestrinone.Conclusion:It's necessary and effective to treat endometriosis of pelvis with Gestrinone after surgery.
