Abstract

Objective To study the effect of ERβ on endometriosis in experimental animal models of endometriosis. Methods To establish an autologous model of ER-β knockout mice by autotransplantation of uterine tissue to ectopic sites and a heterologous model of SCID mice by heterotransplantation of various human tissues. The ER-β agonist WAY-200070 was injected to the mice to observe the effect on the growth of the lesions. Results The endometriosis models of 30 ER-β knockout mice were not significantly different compared with the 22 cognate mice,P0.05.The ER-β agonist WAY-200070 do not significantly suppress the endometriosis lesions in SCID mice compared with that in the control groups,P0.1.Conclusion The results of this study indicate that ER-β does not play an important role in the formation of endometriosis lesions.
