Abstract

Endometriosis is defi ned as the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. Urinary tract endometriosis (ETU) refers to the presence of endometrial tissue in or around the bladder, ureters, urethra or kidneys, which occurs in about 1% of cases. The objective of this review is to update the concepts concerning this rare disease. Clinic, pathophysiology and treatment are discussed.
