Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of tripterygium glycosides for preventing myomas of uterus from relapse of postoperative myomectomy fibroids. Methods Seventy patients with postoperative uterine fibroids were randomly divided into two groups (Tripterygium,n=35) and the control group(Mifepristone,n=35).The recurrence rate and serum sexual hormone levels were compared between two groups. Results Two cases recurred with uterine fibroids in the treatment group and 8 cases did the same in the control group. The recurrence rate was higher (P0.05) in control group than that of the treatment one. Progesterone (P) and estradiol (E2) levels of two groups were significantly decreased (P0.01) after 6 months of treatment respectively. P and E2 were lower in tripterygium group than that of control group (P0.01).Conclusion Tripterygium glycosides has better effect for the prevention of recurrence of myomas of uterus after myomectomy compared with mifepristone and can also reduce the hormone levels.
