Clinical analysis of 22 cases of extra-pelvic endometriosis

Abstract
Objective: To study the cause of extra-pelvic endometriosis and the treatment for the disease.Methods:22 cases with extra-pelvic endometriosis, who operated and confirmed by pathology in Tianjin Medical University General Hospital from 12.1999-12.2000, were retrospectively analysed.Results:The average age of 22 cases with extra-pelvic endometriosis, which 18 cases occurred in the abdominal wall and 4 cases in the vulva, were 34.5. 19/22 (86.36%) showed the mass in the abdominal wall and the vulva obviously increase and felt pain during menstruation.All the patients were treated by operation.Conclusion:Extra-pelvic endometriosis should be surgically removed once the diagnosis is demonstrated.If the mass is very large and in order to prevent from relapse, drug treatment should be used for 3~6 months after operation.
