Abstract

Summary. Progesterone has an inhibitory action on the spontaneous motility and pharmacological reactivity of isolated myometrial strips from women in early pregnancy. This effect is similar to that observed on isolated uterine preparations from other species, such as rabbit, rat and mouse.
