Should we screen patients with chronic pelvic pain for depression?

In patients with chronic pelvic pain (CPP), depression is more common than in matched controls and is significantly associated with functional and social impairment and decreased quality of life. No research has specifically assessed the effect of depression treatment on outcomes for patients with CPP.
