Rectal endometriosis symptoms are usually nonspecific: abdominal or pelvic pain, constipation, tenesmus, and more rarely, intestinal obstruction or rectal bleeding. Therefore, rectal endometriosis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of rectal submucosal masses in women of childbearing age, espe- cially if gynecological symptoms or infertility history are referred. It is also important to emphasize the difficulties performing colonoscopy in these scenarios due to adhesions resulting of colonic wall and peritoneum involvement.
