The School-Related Well-Being Scale (SWBS): A brief and reliable measure of students’ overall psychological well-being (User’s manual)
preprint
OA: closed
Abstract
We present a brief and reliable measure for assessing student’s overall psychological well-being in school, the School-Related Well-Being Scale (SWBS). The scale encompasses six items covering students’ cognitive and affective evaluations of their personal well-being in relation to their schooling in an economic but empirically sound manner. The user's manual contains English and German scale instructions and items. We also provide a summary of extant validation studies and research using the SWBS to examine correlates of school-related well-being in students of different age groups, levels of education, and socio-cultural backgrounds.
