Abstract

In the modern day, data resources have become the most important elements of production in the digital economy. However, manufacturing enterprises face the challenge of being unable to maximise the value of their data resources. This article presents a hypothetical model of the link between data empowerment (DE), network capability (NC), and enterprise innovation performance (EIP), based on the perspective of data empowerment (DE). On the basis of 245 data empowerment questionnaires from manufacturing enterprises in Shaanxi Province, the results indicate that data empowerment (DE) has a significant positive impact on the network capability (NC) and enterprise innovation performance (EIP). Network capability (NC) has a positive impact on enterprise innovation performance (EIP) and acts as a partial mediator between manufacturing enterprise data empowerment (DE) and innovation performance (EIP).
