Abstract
Objective To investigate correlation polymorphisms of macrophage migration inhibitory factors(MIF)(rs755622 and rs2096525)with susceptibibility of endometriosis in a Han population in Guangdong province. Methods The 112 patients with endometriosis were selected from Shenzhen Municipal Fifth People’s Hospital from June 2009 to December 2011.The cases without endometriosis in the same period Were raken ascontrols. The genotypes of the patients in both groups were detected by polymorphism chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis(PCR-RFLP).Then the differences of genotype frequencies and the allele frequencies in each group were compared and the association of MIF gene polymorphisms with the endometriosis was explored. Results The distribution frequencies of CC genotype of+254(T/C)locus in MIF gene were 7.14% and 1.79%,respectively.There were statistical differences in genotype frequencies between the endometriosis group and the control group(P=0.04);The frequencies of C allele of+254(T/C)locus in MIF gene were 23.66% and 14.29%,respectively.Showing significant difference in frequencies between the two groups(P=0.01).OR values(95%CI)with CC genotypes were 4.89(1.01-23.83).OR value(95%CI)for subjects with T allele was1.86(1.15-3.02).There were no statistical differences in genotype frequencies and allele frequencies of-173 locus in MIF gene between two groups(P0.05).Conclusions The results suggest that MIF +254 T/C polymorphism is significantly correlated with susceptibility of endometriosis,Callele and CC homozygote may be risk factors for endometriosis.
