This chapter reviews benign diseases of the endometrium, classifying them into inflammatory conditions, neoplastic processes, and functional abnormalities that disrupt normal endometrial maturation patterns. It discusses that common symptoms include abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic discomfort, and sometimes infertility, and it references specific entities such as chronic endometritis, endometrial changes induced by synthetic progestins, and endometrial polyps. A major limitation is that the text functions as a narrative clinical-pathology overview rather than presenting new original study data. This paper is centrally about endometriosis and/or adenomyosis—endometriosis and adenomyosis are not explicitly discussed, and it was included in the corpus via keyword match in the upstream search index.
