The Expression of Estrogen Receptor β in Human Endometrium

Objective:To investigate the distribution of estrogen receptor β(ER-β) in the human endometrium and endometriosis lesions.Methods;Both eutopic and ectopic endometrium was examined for the mRNA and protein expression of ER-β with RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry.Results: ER-β mRNA was present in both eutopic and ectopic endometrium;However,protein expression was absent in both stroma and epithelium.Conclusion: These results suggest that the ER-β protein is not expressed in the human endometrium.
