Abstract
DNA methylation is one of the main way of epigenetic mechanisms of transcriptional control. In recent years, some reports indicate that aberrant expression of genes result from abnormal DNA methylation of related genes and make an important effect with the initiation and progression of endometriosis, especially aberrant methylation of HOXA10 gene which cause the down-regulation of its expression. In this review,we summarized the abnormal methylation of related-genes and its ralationship with endometriotic pathogenetic processes, diagnosis, therapy and prognosis, and discussed the molecular mechanisms in endometriosis.
