EXPRESSIONS OF HEPARANASE AND E-CADHERIN IN ADENOMYOSIS

Objective To investigate the relationship between heparanase(Hpa) and E-cadherin(E-cad) expressions and the development of adenomyosis.Methods Immunohistochemical method was used to examine the expressions of Hpa and E-cad in 52 specimens of ectopic endometrium,endometrial-myometrial interface(EMI),eutopic endometrium of adenomyosis and 21 specimens of normal endometrium.Results The expessions of Hpa in ectopic endometrium,EMI and eutopic endometrium of adenomyosis were significantly higher than in normal endometrium(P0.05).The expressions of Hpa was not significantly different in ectopic endometrium,and EMI and eutopic endometrium of adenomyosis(P0.05).The expression of E-cad in eutopic endometrium of adenomyosis was significantly lower than that of normal endometrium(P0.05).The expressions of E-cad in ectopic endometrium and EMI of adenomyosis were significantly higher than tthose of eutopic endometrium(P0.05).There was no significant difference between the expressions of E-cad and Hpa in ectopic endometrium and EMI of adenomyosis(P0.05).Conclusion The abnormal expressions of Hpa and E-cad might correlate with the occurrence of human adenomyosis.
