Correlation between gene polymorphisms of tumor necrosis factor-α promoter TNFα-238G/A and-308G/A and endometriosis

Objective:To explore the correlation between gene polymorphisms of tumor necrosis factor-α promoter TNFα-238G/A and-308G/A and endometriosis.Methods:The gene polymorphisms of tumor necrosis factor-α promoter TNFα-238G/A and-308G/A in endometriosis group(100 cases) and control group(100 cases) were detected by PCR-RELP.Results:The frequencies of TNFα-238 G/G,G/A and A/A phenotypes in endometriosis group were 0.93,0.07 and 0,respectively;the gene frequencies of TNFα-238 G and TNFα-238 A were 0.965 and 0.035,respectively;The frequencies of TNFα-308 G/G,G/A and A/A phenotypes in endometriosis group were 0.87,0.12 and 0.01,respectively;the gene frequencies of TNFα-308 G and TNFα-238 A were 0.93 and 0.07,respectively;there was no significant difference in genotype frequencies and gene frequencies of TNFα-238G/A and TNFα-308G/A between endometriosis group and control group(P0.05).Conclusion:There is no significant correlation between gene polymorphisms of TNFα-238G/A and TNFα-308G/A and endometriosis.
