Assessment of Web-Based Preparation for the Final Board Exams Developed for Ob/Gyn Residents During the Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract
The purpose of the articleDue to Corona virus (SARS-CoV-2) full lockdown was initiated in Israel on March 25, 2020. This caused upheavals in daily life in Obstetrics and Gynecology, an online platform was developed to prepare residents for the final board exams. The aim of this study was to describe the degree of satisfaction and the quality of the web-based preparation platform and to map out the needs of the residents related to the exams.Materials and methodsDescriptive study based on residents’ and examiners’ responses at two time points in 2020 to a questionnaire regarding the online based platform preparation.Results178 examinees took the course, of whom 145 (81.46%) passed the exam. The response rate on the questionnaires was 35/60 (58%) for the Spring course and 51/118 (43%) for the Fall course Overall, the majority of the residents 83/86 (93%) felt that the online platform for pre-board exam preparation should be continued even when restrictions are liftedConclusionsAn online learning platform is a good framework for final board exam preparation, regardless of the COVID- 19 pandemic. It eliminates differences in preparation between the various medical centers, and provides for uniformity, fairness, and high accessibility to the material.
