Unusual neurological symptoms as the first manifestations of celiac disease: a case report

Background: we report a patient with atypical presentation of celiac disease, she presented with neurologic manifestations without gastrointestinal symptoms. Case presentation: a 32-year-old woman witha weakness of the lower extremities, gait imbalance, and tremor in the upper extremities progressing during the last two months with headache, she also complaints of amenorrhea five years ago with no apparent reason. She did not have gastrointestinal symptoms. Her investigations showed that she had celiac disease and the neurological and endocrine manifestations improved with gluten-free diet within several weeks. Conclusion: We should investigate for CD in patients with neurologic and endocrine manifestations and vitamins deficiency even if there are no gastrointestinal symptoms .
