Abstract

Objective To evaluate the curative effects of medroxyprogesterone after transcervical resection of endometrium(TCRE).Methods Fifty cases with endometrioma were selected and randomly divided into two groups.Group A (n=25) were treated with medroxyprogesterone after TCRE yet Group B(n=25) were not treated with medroxyprogesterone.Sign and symptom remission rate after 6 months ,recurrent rates and CA125 were analyzed 12 months after surgery respectively.Reslts The amenorrhea rates of group A were significant higher than group B(P0.05).Sign and symptom remission rate of group A were significantly higher (P0.05).The one year recurrent rates of Group A were significant lower(P0.01).The level of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) increased in 2 of the 47 cases.11of the 47 cases had nausea or vomiting. Conclusions The method of using medroxyprogesterone after TCRE can reduce recurrent rates ,works effectively and should be popularized.
