Abstract
Objective To investigate treatment of perineal endometriosis,especially with anal sphincter involvement.Methods 25 cases of perineal endometriosis were analyzed retrospectively in Peking Union Medical College Hospital from Jan 2000 to Sep 2008,including 11 cases with anal sphincter involvement.Results 24 patients had history of episiotomy and perineal tear.Only one had no vaginal delivery history.In 11 cases with anal sphincter involvement,7 had history of perineal tear,10 had the diameter of lesions 2cm.All perineal endometriotic lesion got complete surgical excision.No recurrence was found at followup 6 months to 72 months after operation.Conclusion Perineal endometriosis with anal sphincter involvement may relate to the longer duration of disease,the history of perineal tear and the larger lesion.Complete surgical excision can be also achieved in the case of anal sphincter involvement.
