Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between Kiss-1 and heparanase expressions and the development and progression of adenomyosis. Methods The expressions of Kiss-1 and Hpa mRNA in cultured glandular cells in adenomyosis group (n=10) and control group (8 patients with CIN Ⅲ) were detected by semi-quantitative RT-PCR. Results The level of Kiss-1 mRNA expression in the glandular cells in adenomyosis group was obviously decreased compared with control group during both proliferative and secretory phases (P0.05), but no difference was observed during secretory phase compared with proliferative phase in the same group (P0.05). The expression of Hpa mRNA in the glandular cells in adenomyosis group was obviously increased compared with control group during both proliferative and secretory phase (P0.05), but the level of Hpa mRNA expression in the glandular cells did not differ during secretory phase compared with proliferative phase in the same group (P0.05). Conclusion The decreased expression of Kiss-1 mRNA and the increased expression of Hpa mRNA may be involved in the invasion of adenomyosis and may play an important role in the development and progression of adenomyosis.
