Abstract

Tetra butyl ammonium Peroxy disulfate has been found to be an efficient and rapid medium for thesynthesis of novel substituted imidazoles. The current investigation involving different mole ratio of catalyst and different solvents were used. The employed strategy/methodology is efficient, economic and sustainable owing to its distinctive characteristics such as eco-friendly low reaction times, excellent yields, cost-effective due to avoid the use of toxic solvents and reusability of the catalyst, simple workup procedure, and extensive applicability. Results reveal that the 20% mole ratio and acetonitrile gave excellent yield. Structures of newly synthesized compounds have been confirmed by Proton NMR, 13 CNMR, IR and mass spectra.
