Abstract
Endometriosis is a chronic condition whose effects extend beyond the gynecological sphere and significantly affect the professional lives of women who have it. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to examine (a) the association between endometriosis and different aspects of working life (e.g., absenteeism, reduced productivity, difficulties maintaining full-time employment, job satisfaction), and (b) the potential role of clinical factors (e.g., pain intensity, stage of endometriosis), psychosocial factors (e.g., coping strategies, perceived social support), and organizational factors (e.g., workplace flexibility, availability of accommodations) in shaping this impact.
