Vitamin D and Zinc Concentration in Endometriosis

dataset OA: green CC0

Abstract

This cross-sectional study included 26 in vitro fertilization patients categorized into two groups, patients with and without endometriosis. Clinical data were obtained from medical records and patient interviews. Laboratory data were obtained through blood and follicular fluid samples obtained using the ovum pick up procedure. There were no significant differences in serum vitamin D levels in patients with (22.83 [5.00–40.00]) and without (30.11 [10.40–76.10]) endometriosis and follicular fluid vitamin D levels in patients with (15.33 [4.50–36.32]) and without (23.64 [4.98–60.22]) endometriosis (p>0.05). There was no significant difference between serum zinc levels in patients with (75.23 ± 11.58) and without (79.46 ± 12.09) endometriosis (p>0.05). Zinc concentration in follicular fluid did not show a significant difference between patients with endometriosis (39.00 [22.00–49.00]) and without (51.00 [19.00–95.00]) endometriosis (p>0.05).
