Abstract
The co-pyrolysis of rice husk and cattle manure was carried out in N 2 /CO 2 atmosphere in a fixed pyrolysis furnace. The effects of pyrolysis temperature and ratio of rice husk to cattle manure on gas yield were studied. Thermo-gravimetric analyzer was used to explore the influence of rice husk on the pyrolysis process of cattle manure. Meanwhile, tar was analyzed by GC-MS to investigate the co-pyrolysis reactions of cattle manure with rice husk. The results showed that the co-pyrolysis of rice husk and cattle manure displayed a good synergistic effect where the mass loss rate was increased by 5.01%. It could significantly improved hydrogen production. Highest H 2 content (26.34%) was obtained at 800℃ with the ratio of 1:0. Co-pyrolysis reduced the content and types of PAHs in tar, while increased the content of aliphatic hydrocarbons and oxygen-containing aliphatic hydrocarbons (ketones). Compared with N 2 atmosphere, the contents of H 2 and CO at CO 2 atmosphere were increased by 30.25% and 30.69% respectively at 800℃ with the ratio of 1. At CO 2 atmosphere, the pyrolysis of organic matter was promoted which resulted in a decrease of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons content and increase of aliphatic hydrocarbons and oxygen-containing aliphatic hydrocarbons content.
