This study takes the Guiyang–Nanning High-Speed Railway section through the Libo World Heritage buffer zone as a case, applying human field-of-view image recognition to build a semantic model of three dimensions naturalness–artificiality, diversity–coherence, and openness–deepness. Pixel-level evaluation of Visual Landscape Quality (VLQ) shows that the area overall features high naturalness, openness, and harmonious elements, while construction has introduced localized artificiality and spatial enclosure. VLQ differences among sections are significant and strongly related to infrastructure layout. To mitigate negative impacts, it is suggested to limit construction intensity and enhance visual integration of facilities with the surrounding environment. The study verifies the feasibility of quantitative VLQ evaluation, emphasizing the need to balance engineering development with ecological aesthetics, and offers scientific guidance for visual management in World Heritage buffer zones. balancing heritage conservation and regional development, yet quantitative studies on visual disturbances from linear infrastructure in buffer zones remain scarce. This study takes the Guiyang–Nanning High-Speed Railway section through the Libo World Heritage buffer zone as a case, applying human field-of-view image recognition to build a semantic model of three dimensions naturalness–artificiality, diversity–coherence, and openness–deepness. Pixel-level evaluation of Visual Landscape Quality (VLQ) shows that the area overall features high naturalness, openness, and harmonious elements, while construction has introduced localized artificiality and spatial enclosure. VLQ differences among sections are significant and strongly related to infrastructure layout. To mitigate negative impacts, it is suggested to limit construction intensity and enhance visual integration of facilities with the surrounding environment.
