Abstract
The Hydrological modelling of resources greatly depends on an understanding of the connection between surface water and groundwater in a river basin. Despite being Thiruvananthapuram city’s most significant Environmental Isotope supply, the Karamana River Basin lacks workable Environmental Isotope and management plans. As such, the baseline data produced by this study will make significant contributions to hydrological modelling in the future. Downscaling is the process of simulating the hydrologic variables at a regional scale using large-scale Environmental Isotope outputs. There are two types of downscaling techniques: statistical and dynamic. Due to its shorter computing times, statistical downscaling has become more and more common in hydrological investigations. Furthermore, the predictability and robustness of real-time prediction will be enhanced by integrating the uncertainty analysis with the future projection. Variations in the oxygen (δ O) stable isotope’s spatial and temporal distribution in the river basin’s surface water Assessment tool, groundwater Assessment tool, and rainfall, as well as its integration into the hydrograph separation-based recharging process mechanisms under investigation.
