Abstract
The recent Iranian elections, which took place on June 18, 2021, came at a difficult time for Iran as a system and as a nation, due to the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic. This has led to a clear deterioration in all sectors of the country, including the social, economic, and political spheres. Furthermore, it has impacted Iran's foreign strategy while maintaining its constants. The ongoing American sanctions, particularly after the US withdrawal from the Iranian nuclear agreement, have had a visible impact on the overall decline of the backbone upon which the Iranian government relied to manage its internal and external crises.
