Abstract
This study attempted to determine the parents’ involvement in their children’s home learning in Mathematics in times of COVID-19. The researcher used a descriptive–qualitative approach. The interview was the main source of collecting data and information from the nine (9) participants who were selected purposively. Data were transcribed and analyzed verbatim. The interpretation was in a narrative form. Keyword in context was used to identify emerging themes. The following were the salient findings of the study. The participant's ages ranged from 32 to 77 years old, mostly female, married, guardians of three grandchildren, and high school graduates. Most of the parents struggled in allotting enough time for their children’s learning. Improved performance in Mathematics and developed interest and confidence among learners were the benefits obtained from the parent's involvement in the home learning of their children. Challenges like lack of parent content knowledge or pedagogy, and personal incompetence were identified by the participants. The strategy employed by the parents was setting a regular schedule for studying and doing performance tasks for their children.
