Correlation Between Oxytocin Receptor and Pain in Patients with Endometriosis

Obiective To investigate the expression of oxytocin receptor on patients with endometriosis with and without pain.Methods Immunohistoc he mical methods were used to identify the expression of oxytocin receptor in the epithelium with ectopic endometrium.Results Oxytocin receptor was expressed in endometrium from women with and without endometriosis.The expression of oxytocin receptor in patients with endometriosis with pain had higher expression than those of endometriosis without pain.The expression of oxytocin receptor in the group whose pain was severe was significantly higher than the group whose pain was slight.Conclusion These findings suggest oxytocin receptor maybe relevant to the pathogenesis of endometriosis with pain.
