Abstract

Objective: evaluation of hormonal and non-hormonal therapy effects in patients with pubertal uterine bleedings. Patients and Methods. The study involved 196 adolescent girls, aged 11-18 years, treated for pubertal uterine bleedings in the in-patient department of pediatric gynecology, the State Institution «Institute of Children and Adolescents Health Care of National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine». The patients were divided into 2 groups depending on the clinical course of the disease: I group 131 girls with the first episode of uterine bleeding and II group 65 girls with a recurrent course of the disease. Homeostasis was attained in all the patients: in 72 % when using non-hormonal medicines, and in 28 % after administration of hormonal drugs. Follow-up observations from 6 months to 3-5 years. Results. Dynamic observations (from 1 to 3-5 years) have established that in patients with hemostasis, attained by using a broad spectrum of non-hormonal remedies, restoration of the menstrual cycle rhythm and duration of menstrual cycle takes place more often than after a hormonally induced homeostasis. Conclusions. Thus, the data obtained affirm that the choice of a non-hormonal homeostasis is more physiologic for adolescent girls with pubertal uterine bleeding.
