Evaluation an Analgesic Activity by Alcoholic Extract of Azadirachta Indica (Neem) Leaves on Albino Rats

Azadirachta indica is commonly known as “Neem”. This research work has been investigated for the analgesic activity of alcoholic extract of azadirachta indica leaves on albino rats. The neem plants possessing different pharmacological property such as anti fungal, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory activity, anti-carcinogenic activity, parasitic diseases etc. In this work, alcoholic extract of azadirachta indica leaves administered at different doses 62.5mg/kg, 125mg/kg, 250mg/kg and 500mg/kg body weight i.p. route at different time intervals as 30min, 60min, 120min and 180min to albino rats. The standard drug was used as morphine administered at 4 mg/kg i.p. The analgesic activity was measured by using thermal tail flicks model by using an instrument known as analgesiometer. The neem leaves extract test groups was compared with the standard (morphine treated) group of albino rats. The results showed that different doses of azadirachta indica leaves extract have analgesic activity in which 250mg and 500mg/kg dose of NLE exhibit more analgesic activity at time 60 min. Hence, in this research work it was investigate that alcoholic extract of neem leaves has analgesic activity at different dose concentrations.
