Expression and singificance of survivin in adenomyosis

OA: closed

Abstract

To investigate the expression of survivin in normal human endometrium and in ad-enomyosis, and to study its function in the course of adenomyosis. Speciments of normal endometrium, ectopic endometrial tissue and eutopic endometrial tissue in adenomyosis were ob-tained for immunohistochemical survivin and dndoglin analyses. The expression of sur-vivin and microvessel density in ectopic endometrial tissue of adenomyosis were significantly high-er than those of normal endometrium and eutopic endometrial tissue in adenomyosis (P<0.01). And survivin expression was significantly associated with endoglin expression in endometrium of proliferative phase and secretory phase(r=0.612, P<0.01). The overexpression of survivin and surviving-collected apoptosis and angiogenesis mechanism might play a pathogenic role in the development of adenomyosis.
