Competence-Based Frameworks and Proposals to Develop Teachers’ Digital Competence in Initial Teacher Education
preprint
OA: closed
Abstract
The context generated by COVID-19 has shown the need to continue working to achieve a higher development of Digital Competence. For this reason, several conceptions about teachers’ digital competence and competence-based frameworks are analysed in this article. Concretely, the European, Spanish and Catalan frameworks are analysed. As a result, different proposals to foster the development of this competence in initial teacher education are presented and justified. Specifically, the current situation at Catalan universities is analysed. Additionally, the characteristics of a proposal to implement Teachers’ Digital Competence are presented. Moreover, how this proposal is being concretized at the University of Barcelona is explained. Finally, there are some final reflections and future proposals.
