New breast cancer screening guidelines
preprint
OA: closed
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to outline the new breast cancer screening guidelines. The new guidelines now recommend biennial screening mammography for all women ages 40 to 74 years old. This is shown to have a moderate benefit with a USPSTP grade B. There is insufficient evidence to assess the balance of risks and benefits regarding screening mammography for women age 75 or older. There is insufficient evidence to the use of ultrasound or MRI for women with dense breasts
