Abstract

Airway management in head/neck cancer patients with post-radiotherapy is challenging in the real world. In this case report, we described our practice with StyleTubation (using video intubating stylet technique) in combination of awake intubation strategy (local anesthetics topicalization, nerve blocks, deep sedation, and nasal high-flow oxygenation) in a patient with nasopharyngeal carcinoma, neck radiation fibrosis, and instrumented with halo-vest stabilization. The trans-oral endotracheal intubation was smooth (with first-pass success) and swift (28 s) without any complications.
