Distribution characteristics and resource potential evaluation of low grade solid potassium in Qarhan Salt Lake

Abstract
China is one of the countries with the largest demand for potash fertilizer in the world, and Qarhan Salt Lake is the largest potash deposit in China. It is a comprehensive deposit mainly composed of liquid potassium-rich brine resources and associated solid potassium salt minerals, which contains about 296 million tons of low-grade solid potassium salt. In recent years, potassium-rich brine resources are declining due to long-term mining. Solid potassium salts have become important development objects, and the development of solid-liquid conversion technology makes these low-grade solid potassium salts become exploitable deposits with great potential. Bieletan section is the first area of Qarhan Salt Lake to carry out low-grade solid potash mine development experiment. In this paper, 3D geological modeling and resource evaluation were carried out by collecting data from 55 drill holes in the Bieletan area, exploring the spatial partial characteristics and resource distribution of low-grade solid potassium in the area, and providing quantitative data support and the basis of mineral search for subsequent potash resource development.
