Abstract

OBJECTIVE To investigate the role of Serum CA 125 in some gynaecology diseases.METHODS serum CA 125 of patients in some gynaecology diseases was by radioimmunology.RESULTS Serum CA 125 levels have elevated not only epithelial ovarian cancer but also endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease(pelvic abscess, pelvic tuberculosis)pregnancy etc. They showed statistically significant with other gynaecology diseases.CONCLUSION CA 125 ,as a marker, is widely used during and after treatment of ovarian cancer, but it is poorly characterized as a marker of ovarian cancer. Many other conditions can cause elevated CA 125 levels, including endometriosis, pregnancy, pelvic inflammatory disease. Assays for CA 125 (OM-MA) have an important and well-established role in the diagnose and treatment of ovarian cancer and endometriosis.
