A cross-sectional mixed-method design was employed, involving 357 rural household heads, supplemented by key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and secondary data analysis. Quantitative findings reveal that sesame production status significantly influences annual farm income, livestock ownership, savings participation, communication access, and income diversification. Sesame producers earned approximately 2.1 times higher annual farm income than non-sesame producers. However, no statistically significant differences were observed in cultivable landholding size or housing condition. Gender disparities were evident, with male-headed households dominating sesame production. The study concludes that sesame production positively contributes to household livelihood status; however structural constraints and gender inequality limit its inclusive benefits.
