Abstract
Adenomyosis (internal endometriosis) is one of the most common diseases, with the third place in the structure of gynecological pathology after inflammatory diseases and uterine fibroid. The relevance of adenomyosis problem is due to the complexity of the diagnosis at the initial stage, long and progressive course, persistent chronic pelvic pain, which affects the quality of life of the female population. The article presents contemporary data on the etiology and pathogenesis of endometriosis. Modern classifications of diseases are presented. The features of ultrasonic diagnosis and differential diagnosis of adenomyosis are described. Great importance is paid to the use of ultrasound Doppler sonography in the diagnosis of adenomyosis.
