Abstract

Endometriosis is one of the most enigmatic conditions in gynaecology. Since the publication of the most accepted theory of pathogenesis of endometriosis,1 there have been over seven thousand publications on this subject. Indeed, endometriosis is one of the most frequently investigated disorders in gynaecology. Despite that, there remains a lack of consensus on various issues related to its pathophysiology and treatment.
