By collecting and organizing the relevant data in the region for many years, a panel data model is constructed, and econometric methods such as panel unit root test and panel cointegration test are used for empirical analysis. The results of the study show that the economic growth of Sichuan and Chongqing regions has a significant dependence on energy consumption. With the rapid economic development, energy consumption has been rising and the energy structure has been gradually adjusted. Further analysis reveals that there are differences in the contribution of different energy types to economic growth. Finally, based on the results of the study, targeted policy recommendations are proposed to promote the rational utilization of energy and sustainable economic growth in Sichuan and Chongqing.
