Clinical Observation on Eleng Capsule for the Prevention and Treatment of Cyst Recurrence in Patients with Endometriosis

Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect of Eleng Capsule(EC) for the prevention and treatment of cyst recurrence in patients with endometriosis(EM) Methods:Sixty-six EM patients with cyst recurrence were equally randomized into two groups.Both of the two groups received conservative surgery for endometrial cyst through laparoscopy or laparotomy.The control group received danazol Capsules 7 days after operation,and the treatment group received EC 3 months before operation and 7 days after operation.Results:The follow-up results showed that recurrence was found in one patient of the treatment group,and 6 patients in the control group one year after operation,the difference being significant(P0.05));dysmenorrheal was relieved in the two groups and the effect in the treatment group was superior to that in the control group(P0.05).After treatment,serum estradiol,progesterone and prulactin levels were much improved in the two groups(P0.05 or P0.01),and the effect in the treatment group was superior to that in the control group (P0.05).Hemorheological parameters such as red blood cell aggregation index, hematocrit(HCT),plasma viscosity,plasma fibrinogen,and high-,middle-and low-shear whole blood viscosity were also improved in the two groups(P0.05 or P0.01).Conclusion:EC can relieve the symptoms of endometrial cyst patients, and decrease the short-term recurrence rate of cyst,and its mechanism may be relat- ed with the regulation of blood flow and sexual hormone levels in EM patients.
