Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effect of Minera in treatment of adenomyosis. Methods A total of108 patients with adenomyosis during March 2008 and March 2013 were selected and randomly divided into treatment group( n =54) and control group( n =54). The control group received methyltestosterone by buccal at the end of the menses;while the treatment group accepted Minera placed inside the uterine cavity during the 1st-7thd of the menses. The clinical effect, scores of clinical symptoms and improvement of serous hormone level in two groups were compared after treatment for six months. Results Dysmenorrheal remission rate, menstruation improvement rate and uterine minification in treatment group were significantly higher than those in control group( P 0. 05); after treatment, the visual simulation score( VAS)and pictorial blood loss assessment chart( PBAC) in the two groups were fallen, and the uterine volume was reduced compared with those before treatment, and scores of VAS and PBAC in treatment group were significantly lower than those in control group( P 0. 05,P 0. 01),while the difference of uterine volume in two groups showed no statistical significance( P 0. 05). The E2 level in the two groups was significantly increased after treatment( P 0. 05,P 0. 01),and after treatment the E2 level in treatment group was significantly higher than that in control group( P 0. 01),while levels of follicle-stimulating hormone( FSH) and luteinizing hormone( LH) showed no statistical significance between before and after treatment( P 0. 05). Conclusion Mirena in treatment of adenomyosis may be effective and safe.
